Observing the Ways of God

What a beautiful day to celebrate with the greatest ushers in Cherokee County! They did an awesome job leading morning worship this morning and we look forward to Rev. Lamont Littlejohn, Jr and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church joining us this evening. The Mass choir reminded us that God is able and Dr. Bridges preached about “Observing the Ways of God” (Proverbs 23:26). He warned us that when you make a point to serve the Lord, you will live life under a microscope. It is not that you have anything to prove to anyone, but your works should externally demonstrate your inner change. Be observant, love your brother and your enemy, don’t treat others the way they treat you, and follow the example Jesus lived for us. Remember that He felt you are so worthy, He was willing to live and die for you! If you don’t have a church home, we welcome you to join us this Sunday at 10am to see for yourself what God can do!

The announcements for today if you missed them:

• There will be no morning or evening Bible Study this Wednesday.
• All are invited to return this afternoon to support our Ushers Anniversary at 3pm. Rev. Lamont Littlejohn of Mt. Calvary of Shelby, NC bringing the message.
• The senior missionary will meet at the home of Sis. Lillie Jones at 3pm on Tuesday, Sept 22nd.
• Revivals for the week:
  New Mt. Zion – Mass Choir
  True Holiness – All Male Choir
  Mt. Olive – Senior Gospel Choir
  Dunton Chapel – Mass Choir
• All are invited out to Dunton United Methodist Church for their revival Sept 21 – 23 at 7pm nightly. The Revivalist is Rev. Al Grey, Assoc. Pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC.
• There will be a health fair at Dunton United Methodist Church Saturday, Sept, 26th from 11am – 1pm. There will be health screenings, a bouncy house, games, and food. Everything is free. All are invited to come out!
• The Shining Stars will rehearse this Saturday, Sept 26th at 12 Noon.
• The Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Week will be hosted by Ebenezer Baptist Church this year on Sept 26 – 29th. On Sunday the 26th, service starts at 3pm. Dr. Bridges will be the opening keynote speaker and the Senior Gospel Choir will render songs of praise. Please come out and support our pastor and the TMBA as we start off the Baptist week.
  • The Junior Missionary session will be held at 11am on Sept 26th at Bethel Baptist Church.
    • Rehearsals for the Junior Missionary combined choir are Saturday, Sept 5th, at 11am at the TMBA Building and Saturday, Sept 19th, at 11am at Bethel Baptist Church. All youth are encouraged to attend.
  • The TMBA YWA banquet will be here at Concord Baptist Church on the 26th as well. Please see Sis. Felicia Galmer for tickets.
