Growing in a Godly Direction

“O Jesus Christ, grow Thou in me, And all things else recede;
My heart be daily nearer Thee, From sin be daily freed.” 

Praise God, our shepherd, who guides us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake! Dr. Bridges talked about “Growing in a Godly Direction” (John 3:22-30). Are you growing wild like a weed or tall like a tree planted by the river? If we truly love and submit to Jesus Christ, more of Him will shine through in everything we do so that others will be ultimately drawn to Him. We pray that we be as humble as John the Baptist and always be content to declare “He must increase, but I must decrease.”  If you don’t have a church home, we welcome you to join us this Sunday at 10am to see for yourself what God can do!

The announcements for today if you missed them:

• No Bible Study for the month of August. All are encouraged to attend local revivals this month and study on your own.
• Revivals this week:
• The traffic team is in need of golf cart drivers during the revival. any one interest see Herbert Vanlue or Dec. Lewis Blanton.
• The Culinary Committee will meet after morning service. Sis. Nina Wilkins, President.
• Pastor Bridges will be preaching Revival services at Lincolnville Baptist Church in Chester, SC at 7pm nightly this week.
• August 15th – 18th at 7pm nightly, Concord will have our Annual Revival Services. Rev. Reginald Dawkins of Triumph Christian Center, Newport News VA will be the Revivalist for the week. All organizations are on standby. Everyone is encouraged to come out for a wonderful time in the Lord!
• All are invited to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC as they are celebrating their homecoming and revival services Aug 14th at 3pm and Aug 15th-17th at 7pm Nightly. Guest ministers include Pastor James Patton, Rev. James Glenn, Pastor Antwand Copeland, and Pastor William Wiggins respectively.
• All are invited to Community Baptist Church during their annual revival services beginning Monday, Aug 15th – Wednesday, Aug 17th at 7pm nightly. Guest speakers include Rev. Chuck Duckett, Rev. Gerry Spells, and Rev. L. Howard Sexton respectively.
• Youngs Grove Baptist Church invites everyone to their homecoming on Sunday, Aug 21st at 3pm with Rev. Nathaniel Craig speaking. Their revival will be Aug 22nd – 24th at 7pm nightly with Rev. Les Davis speaking on Monday night and concluding with Dr. Jamal Edwards on Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
