God’s People

What a wonderful fellowship we had together, celebrating Black History Month and worshipping our Lord and Savior! We were blessed with a wonderful word from Dr. Malachi Rodgers, retired pastor. He encouraged us to not forget what our forefathers have gone through throughout history and to remember what God has brought us through. We are God’s people and should continue to move forward into all the great plans He has for us. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Announcements for this week:

  • February is School Choice month – please go to the school of your choice to apply for your child to attend there by February 28th. K3-5 registration will be March 2-6th. See Cherokee County ISD website/social media for details.
  • The Shining Stars will practice every Saturday in February at 11am in preparation for their upcoming anniversary.
  • Youth Skate Fellowship will be Saturday, February 29th.
  • Don’t forget, the democratic primary is this Saturday, February 29th. – Exercise your right. Go vote!
  • Shining Stars Anniversary will be Sunday, March 1st at 3pm.
  • Anyone desiring to sing with Concord at the Singing Convention is asked to come out to practice at the church on Tuesday, March 3rd at 5pm.
  • The TMBA Prayer Breakfast will be Saturday, March 7th at 9am at Concord Baptist Church. Rev. C.A. Wallace, Pastor of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC will be the messenger. Tickets are $10 each.
  • The TMBA Youth Explosion will be Sunday, March 6th at 3pm at Concord Baptist Church. Rev. Audrey V. Hailstock, New Day Baptist Church, Spartanburg will be the guest messenger. There will also be an encouraging youth moment by Coach Matthew Montgomery.
  • The TMBA Annual Revival will be Monday – Wednesday, March 7th – 9th at 7pm nightly at Concord Baptist Church. Rev. Clinton McFarland, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church of Atlanta, GA, will be our dynamic guest messenger for this occasion. These are all events you don’t want to miss!!!!!
  • All are invited to Mikes Creek Missionary Baptist Church for their Deacon/Deaconess program on Sunday, March 15th at 3pm. Dr. Bridges will bring the message for the occasion.
  • We will have a youth trip to the UniverSoul Circus on Saturday, March 21st. A sign-up list is on the table in the lobby.
  • All are invited to Metropolitan AME Zion Church for their Homecoming service on Sunday, March 22nd at 2:30pm. Dr. Bridges will deliver the Spoken Word.
  • Sunday, March 29th is Youth Sunday.
  • The TMBA Singing Convention will be on Sunday, March 29th at 2pm at Concord Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to come out and sing whatever song is on your heart.
  • We will also take the youth to the Charlotte Hornets vs Toronto Raptors game on Wednesday, April 8th at 7pm. Tickets are $40, Concord youth tickets are $25. A sign-up list is on the table in the lobby.
  • We will be going to JoyFest again this year Saturday, May 23rd! Featured artists this year includes Kirk Franklin, John. P Kee, Anthony Brown and Group Therapy and Jakelyn Carr. Tickets are $40, Concord youth tickets are $25. A sign-up list is on the table in the lobby.
