He’s Trying to Catch You

There is so much going on around us, but praise God – God kept us another day! We must get our houses in order and be ready because “The Devil Will Try to Catch You” (Mark 12:13). Pastor Bridges warned us to be careful and keept a watchful eye. The devil will use who ever he can to try to catch you! He will flatter you first, and then flatten you next. Stand firm! If we slip up, and many times we do, we have to come back home to Jesus – he won’t bless us in our mess, we have to come home! If you don’t have a church home, we welcome you to join us this Sunday at 10am to see for yourself what God can do!

The announcements for this week:

  • Morning and Evening Bible Study will resume this week at 11:30am and 7pm. All are encouraged to come out and discuss the Word of God.
  • The Senior Gospel Choir will practice this Thursday at 5:30pm. Sis. Millie Vanlue President
  • Mikes’ Creek Missionary Baptist Church invites everyone out to their Women’s Conference,
    Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 am. Registration is free and lunch will be served. Rev. Iris Kennedy & Sis. Shaqueena Carter will bring the Word for the event.
  • Rehearsals for the Junior Missionary combined choir are Saturday September 9th at 11am at the TMBA Building. The annual session will be Sept 23rd at 11am at Bethel Baptist Church. All youth are encouraged to attend.
  • The AKA’s are sponsoring a community Shred day, Saturday, September 9th from 11am – 1pm at the Cherokee County Public Library. Please bring paper only.
  • The Mass Choir will hold their anniversary program on Sunday, September 13th at 3:00 pm.
  • Attention Youth, Parents, Seniors, Everyone! We will hold an Internet/Social Media Safety Seminar here at Concord Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept 16th at 10:00am. Mr. Joe Ryan from the SC Attorney General Office will be the speaker for the occasion. A lot of great information will be shared to help keep our children safe and our personal information protected. It is free and the public is welcome to attend this informative event!
  • The Shining Stars will practice Saturday, Sept 16th at 11:30 – immediately after the internet safety seminar.
  • The Ushers Anniversary will be Sunday, Sept 20th at 3:00 pm. Rev. Johnny Sarratt Jr. and the New Prospect Baptist Church of Spartanburg will be our special guests.
  • Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Baptist Week will be September 23rd – 26th. Green Bethel Church will be the hosts this year.
  • Winter is fast approaching. All members are asked to provide updates for the emergency contact system via the website at Contact Update Page or filling out a paper in the lobby.
